King’s pupils are celebrating their best ever IB results today. 55 pupils completed their International Baccalaureate diploma this year as an alternative to A levels. Impressively, 95% of results in Higher Level subjects were graded 7 or 6. Although it is impossible to make a perfect comparison with A level grading, HL 7 and 6 are considered by UCAS to be the equivalent of A* and A at A level.
The average points score currently stands at 41.6 (out of a maximum score of 45) and results have been strong across all subjects. There will certainly be some changes over the coming weeks which will see some results get even better. In any case, we are very proud of all of our girls and boys for their success.
We are always mindful that every year, at this stage, some pupils do not achieve the scores that they had hoped for and will be worried they have lost a university place as a result. Staff will be available on Friday morning specifically to give guidance on re-marks and liaising with universities.
