King's is renowned for its co-curricular programme and the importance assigned to this aspect of a pupil's education is recognised by the dedication of an entire afternoon's timetable on Friday to activities. Co-curricular education is also central to the International Baccalaureate curriculum through the Creativity, Action and Service (CAS) core of the diploma. Alongside the programme on Friday afternoon activities a huge variety of sporting, drama, musical and other activities is offered throughout the school day. Most academic departments run societies and stimulating trips to London and beyond and overseas. The long lunch break on Tuesday is dedicated to house competitions and on Thursday to other clubs and societies. Weekends see not only the usual array of sporting fixtures, but also music and drama rehearsals and numerous expeditions and visits.
